When a team is 5-1 nobody wants to rock the boat. So nobody expected carping from Mel Turpin or Ed Horton, until tonight the two Bullets yet to see action this season.

Washington's second front-court unit of Harvey Grant, Mark Alarie and Tom Hammonds played exceedingly well the first half-dozen games, leaving little room for 6-foot-11 Turpin or 6-8 rookie Horton.

"Hopefully I'll be ready to go when {Coach Wes Unseld} does call on me," Turpin said before he was called on against the Jazz tonight and responded with six points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes.
