Article: Hewitt targets Olympic Games

Christchurch athlete Andrea Hewitt may have the form to win a World Cup but has opted to skip the chance of claiming a world championship crown.

Hewitt picked up her first World Cup title last weekend when she won the Kitzbuhel leg of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) series in Austria.

However, the former under- 23 world champion has chosen not to start in September's world championships in Hamburg, instead focusing on qualifying for next year's Olympic Games in China.

The first of two Kiwi qualifying races for next year's games takes place in Beijing on September 15, just two weeks after the world championships in Germany.
