Sir Roy McKenzie was an extraordinary man, a humble philanthropist
who made an outstanding contributiion to harness racing.

Nobody in harness racing can mark the passing of Sir Roy McKenzie
without reflecting on the enormous contribution he made to the sport
and the industry.
Every time we watch a Sundon horse go around a track -- which is
most racedays of the year these days -- it should remind us that this
forward thinking pioneer whose father, Sir John, had shown the way,
made his own mark on a changing industry, especially with his width
of vision in taking in the best of American breeding and racing and
making it work here on his own terms.
