PALMDALE Xbox 360 has arrived, and it wants everyone else to come
and play, too.
Since the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System, critics have
pegged the video game console as a talisman to the gods of laziness
and isolation. But Microsoft hopes to change that with today's
release of the Xbox 360, the first of the so-called "next generation"
of game systems available to the public, beating Sony's PlayStation 3
and Nintendo's Revolution to the shelves.
And unlike the systems before it, the 360 is attempting to roll
out the digital welcome mat to the casual player and non-gamer market
not to mention become the nexus for almost every piece of
entertainment tech in your household.
