Article: Penn State Accepts Offer to Join Big Ten

Penn State yesterday made official its plan to join the Big Ten Conference as soon as scheduling, revenue-sharing and other contractual details can be worked out.

Plans for the resolution of those problems were outlined during a news conference in University Park, Pa., attended by University of Illinois President Stanley Ikenberry, chairman of the Big Ten presidents' Council of 10; Penn State President Bryce Jordan; Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany and Penn State Athletic Director Jim Tarman.
