HORSE RACING
Arlington Million-Will be run Aug. 20 at Woodbine Race Course.
The international turf classic was shifted to the Toronto site while
the rebuilding of fire-ravaged Arlington (Ill.) Park continues.
BASEBALL
Minnesota Twins-Signed veteran LHP Steve Carlton, who had become
a free agent after not receiving a contract offer from the Twins at
the end of the 1987 season. Terms of the one-year pact were not
disclosed.
Atlanta Braves-OF Albert Hall agreed to a one-year contract.
California Angels-SS Dick Schofield agreed to a one-year
contract.
Houston Astros-LHP Juan Agosto, IF Mike Simms and OF Ty Gainey
agreed to one-year contracts.
