Article: In War Over Primary, New Hampshire Loses Another Battle

New Hampshire Democrats extended their losing streak this week in their battle with the Democratic National Committee to preserve the state's special status in presidential nominating contests.

By an overwhelming margin, a DNC panel in charge of revamping the nominating calendar voted Thursday to insert a state caucus between the Iowa caucuses in mid-January and the New Hampshire primary in late January. The rules and bylaws committee also added a primary to be squeezed into the days immediately following the Granite State vote but before another round of primaries begins on Feb. 5, 2008.
