present and past, with John Lehmann the camera recording Christopher
Isherwood, the original camera. Lehmann adds little here that his
three-volume autobiography or Isherwood's own work has not already
revealed. Rather, a most generous and admiring friend, he reviews,
clarifies, and sums up his relationship with Isherwood, who died in
