JASPER Carrott looks set to shift 45,000 tickets this weekend by
hosting four nights of . . . variety.
It's still a dirty word in TV circles and an unfair barrier for
the likes of all-round entertainer Bobby Davro.
But the brilliant 46-year-old Worthing-based star stole Jasper's
show.
The surprise opening-night guest was given the first comedy slot
and his Ozzy Osbourne impression and gags about the old audience went
down a storm.
Bill Bailey's hi-tech evil dictators' routine was inspired before
shiny-suited Lenny Henry arrived as the hilarious blues-singing
Lowdown Dirty Hound Dog Smith.
Then he really came home with a 'black man van' routine about
trying to lose his teenage virginity ...
