Jimmy Swaggart is far from the only minister in the country
addicted to pornography and in need of treatment as intensive as that
given to alcoholics, members of a religious group battling
pornography said here this week.
About 400 members of the group, the Religious Alliance Against
Pornography, gathered at a Washington hotel for a seminar on how to
battle pornography. One of the topics they discussed was the recent
suspension of Swaggart from his Assemblies of God ministry because of
sexual misconduct.
"In my travels, I've had pastors confess to me their addiction,
and it truly is an addiction," alliance Chairman Jerry Kirk said at a
news conference.
