After one has cut through the rhetoric of Michael Lerner's
article {op-ed, March 13}, the following emerges:
Israel is in violation of the Biblical injunction not to oppress
the stranger by its treatment of Palestinians in Gaza, Judea and
Samaria.
Israel is in danger of losing its democratic status in the eyes
of America through its alleged beating and shooting of Palestinian
women and children.
Israel is responsible for radicalizing even those Palestinians
who live within its pre-1967 borders.
Israel is providing a real grievance for anti-Semites.
Israel should permit Palestinians to choose their representatives
to a conference and proclaim its willingness to establish a
demilitarized ...
