SELFLESS youngsters gave up cash for Lent to help youngsters at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Pupils at Blue Coat CE Infant School, in Walsall, raised hundreds of pounds to support sick children and also boost a project to rebuild an earthquake-hit school in Pakistan as part of their Lent Appeal.

Children raised at least pounds 500 in a variety of ways from collecting copper coins for a coin trail to filling smarties boxes with small coins and a non-uniform day.

Teachers, parents and members of the school council also joined in the efforts by organising other events including a cake stall for a week.
