Audrey Hepburn, who last month was named a special ambassador by
the United Nations Children's Fund, recently traveled to Ethiopia to
view relief operations in areas controlled by the government. The
following are excerpts from a brief interview shortly after her
return.
Q: Is this your first trip to Africa?
A: To Ethiopia, it is. Years ago I was in what was then the
Congo {for "The Nun's Story"}.
Q: What is the state of the relief workers now?
A: The morale is very high ... I can cite an example of one
young Italian doctor who's running a prefabricated clinic sent over
from Italy. I said to him, "You really look very happy." He said,
"I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world." ...
