"Use your own brain," your brother says when you ask him for help
with your homework.
"Don't watch another minute of TV," your mom says. "Your brain's
turning into scrambled eggs."
"That new kid is in my math class," your friend says. "He's a
real brain. He can do all the problems without a calculator."
If you were asked to name the single most important part of your
body, you'd have to say the brain. It's your control center, the
part of you that's in charge of almost everything you do.
Your brain contains about one hundred billion cells. To
scientists, it's the most mysterious part of you-so complicated that
