Q My baby has bad diarrhoea when I give her cheese, yoghurt or
other dairy products. Could she be intolerant to cows' milk?
A There are a number of different conditions where people have an
abnormal reaction to cows' milk, including cows' milk allergy, cows'
milk protein intolerance and lactose intolerance. Symptoms of these
conditions include diarrhoea, asthma, eczema, vomiting, bloating and
wind.
Milk allergy and cows' milk protein intolerance are common in
babies and children. Symptoms start from the time cows' milk is
introduced into the diet.
Many children with these conditions will grow out of them when
they get older.
