Maryland 200 years ago should not have voted to ratify the U.S.
Constitution, a group of Montgomery County residents agreed last
week.
Seditious talk? No, just play-acting at Montgomery College to
better appreciate the Constitution's origins as the county observes
the bicentennial of the document that is the centerpiece of the U.S.
legal system.
In "Vote No!"-a one-man dramatic interpretation of a 1788
Maryland town meeting-actor Jerry Mayer portrayed an anti-Federalist,
a member of the political group that opposed ratification of the
proposed Constitution and pleaded for amendments that later became
the Bill of Rights.
