Bryan Murray, who has coached the Washington Capitals since
November 1981, will return for his eighth season, but he is likely to
oversee a personnel shakeup before the first game.
The return of Murray to fulfill the final year of his contract
was confirmed yesterday by General Manager David Poile, who said,
"Bryan is set for next year. In the seven years he's been with the
organization, he's proven to be one of the best coaches in the NHL."
However, Poile declared there likely would be new faces on the
ice and more competition in training camp next season as the Capitals
again face a summer of discontent after being eliminated, 3-2, by New
Jersey two weeks ago at Capital Centre in the ...
