Article: REGULATING iPODS; Schools dealing with popularity of music players

IPods, those nearly ubiquitous pocket-size music players that are de rigueur for teens, have school districts across the region aiming to regulate the growing use of the devices in schools. The issue popped up most recently at Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, with school officials deciding use of the audio devices will no longer be permitted during school hours.

The move puts Amity in line with some other districts in the region, and it's clearly not easy for some students to turn off the portable music.

"IPods are a big deal at Amity," said senior Max Siegal, 18.
