Article: Milford opts to recycle junk mail

Junk mail is getting a new life in Milford: residents can recycle the items that typically would have been tossed in the trash.

Environmental Concerns Coalition Chairwoman Ann Berman said city residents can now recycle unwanted catalogs, credit card offers and pesky magazines.

That's because the state has adopted a policy that allows municipalities to recycle junk mail, and Mayor James L. Richetelli Jr. said the city is taking part in the new program that may benefit the environment and save the city money.
