Article: Future of West River project uncertain

The future of West River Crossing is up in the air after a pre- development agreement with the waterfront site's developer expired, leaving the project at least temporarily in the lurch. Despite the standstill, city officials said they are formulating a vision for the site, including whether the project will be put out to bid for the third time since its conceptual inception in September 1997.

The project calls for redeveloping more than 30 acres of moribund industrial properties along the West River and New Haven Harbor into a shopping and tourism center.
