Article: REGISTER NORTH: 'Waggin' their way to Santa;' Christmas party for pets benefits Happy Tails Foundation

Pets got into the Christmas spirit when they dressed for a holiday party and posed for pictures with Santa. All the barking and meowing was to benefit the Happy Tails Foundation, a nonprofit foundation formed in March to benefit the proposed animal shelter in town.

Incorporated by Dolores Giannini and Karen Hickerson, Happy Tails held a holiday fair Sunday at the M.L. Keefe Community Center.

More than $1,500 was raised as a result of people bringing their pets to pose for pictures with Santa. Employees from Hamden Government Center provided baked goods that were sold to benefit Happy Tails.
