CBS brought 16 people together and dropped them in Kenya last
summer for the third season of "Survivor," its popular "reality
television" show.
The "Survivor Africa" cast members learned to live on little more
than variations of corn and boiled water. They competed at tasks
ranging from carrying goats to arranging puzzle pieces. Winners won
prizes like a truck, an elaborate dinner or a guarantee that they
would not be kicked off of the show for a little longer.
Beginning in October, one cast member was voted off the show each
week by the other contestants in a section called the "tribal
council." One of the final two people left on the show will win $1
million; the other will win $100,000.
