Standing at the head of the class Tuesday night, Matthew Cook was
all business - in more ways than one.
"Bounce!" he ordered.
A dozen uniformed students at the Kim School of Tae Kwon Do began
to hop.
"Everybody OK?" Cook asked.
"Yes, sir!"
"Up!" Cook barked.
The students, who ranged in age from 15 to 51, jumped higher,
drawing their knees into their chests at the pinnacle of their leaps.
"Up!". . . "Up!". . ."Up!"
"OK, last one," Cook said. "Big scream. Up!"
"Hy!" came the synchronous reply.
This is how it is seven days a week here at The Weight Club. You
show up for this Tae Kwon Do class, you're expected to be ready to
work. Cook won't tolerate anything less. He's all business.
