Michael Spinks entered the ring quietly, almost gently. Mike
Tyson entered it with nostrils flaring, sockless, robeless and
entirely threatening. That was how the fight ended, with a
thundering uppercut from Tyson and sudden quiet from Spinks.
Each fighter's approach to the first round would greatly
influence how this brief undisputed heavyweight bout went at
