Article: BEDFORD COUNTY'S BIG ISLAND SEAT TEMPORARILY FILLED BY MAN WHO LOST

Tony Ware will get back his Big Island District seat on the Bedford County Board of Supervisors.

By a 4-2 vote Tuesday night, a majority of supervisors agreed that the seat should be filled quickly so the board can move on with its budget process.

The Big Island seat became vacant after a three-judge panel earlier this month declared invalid the Nov. 4 election in which Ware lost to challenger Steve Arrington by 12 votes. Ware sued to have the election voided after learning that 56 voters from a neighboring district mistakenly voted in the Big Island district.
