Described by a lawyer in October as a "terminally ill patient,"
Hunting Hills Country Club reportedly boasts a stronger pulse this
spring.
The back-from-the-brink club has a new owner for its golf course,
a new general manager, a new dues structure and about 290 new
members.
"We are just booming and thriving and I think everyone is excited
about the club," said Tom van Duursen, whose first day as general
manager was Jan. 27.
In a deal that closed March 12, Hunting Hills Golf LLC, a company
set up by Gordon Willis Sr.'s Old Heritage Corp., purchased the
club's golf course for $1.9 million. The transaction also provided
