Business Week magazine is investigating unusual trading in stocks mentioned in its "Inside Wall Street" column-trading that took place before the magazine's distribution.

The investigation was started after Business Week editors noticed suspicious trading in the stocks on Thursdays, the day after the magazine is sent to the printers, said Mary McGeachy, a public relations representative for Business Week.
