Article: HEAD LICE PROBLEM FRUSTRATING PARENT

Sherry Sullins is sick of head lice.

She's tired of staying up nights disinfecting her Floyd County trailer after her elementary-schoolers come home with the tiny critters. One or more of her three daughters have gotten lice a total of five times since November.

Sullins said she marched into Willis Elementary School "raising Cain" last week and was also told the problem would go away at the end of "lice season."

The school's principal, Sandra Montgomery, said only two families in her school of 228 children have had a recurring problem with the bugs. "We absolutely do not have any type of head lice problem over and above a lice problem at any other elementary school," Montgomery said Monday.
