Roanoke Ballet Theatre is leaving its longtime quarters at
Jefferson Center for new digs on Grandin Road.
The ballet company will move into the former Virginia Home
Furnishings building at 1318 Grandin this month, executive director
Jenefer Davies Mansfield said. The company will continue to perform
at Jefferson Center's Shaftman Performance Hall.
"We totally need more space," explained Mansfield. "Our student
body is growing and growing. It's a great problem to have."
The Grandin Road property is owned by Corned Beef and Co. co-
owners Roger Neel and Al Pollard. Virginia Home Furnishings relocated
to Franklin County in March 2002.
