If the ACC could get a second bid to the Bowl Championship Series,
potential beneficiaries would include many of the seven teams that
are now bowl eligible.
"That wouldn't be the only reason we would want one," ACC
assistant commissioner Mike Finn said Wednesday.
With its champion assured a BCS bid, the ACC would welcome the
prestige that would come with a second, at-large selection.
"It's a possibility," Finn said. "I don't think it's unlikely."
Seventh-ranked Virginia Tech (8-1, 5-1 ACC) would be the most
attractive non-ACC champ to the BCS, provided Miami beats Florida
State in the ACC championship game and Tech finishes the regular
season 10-1.
