For the first time in a long time, Southwest Roanoke resident
Marsha Combs is pulling out her family's Christmas ornaments to put
on this year's tree.
Combs, 59, insists they are nothing special, just Shiny Brite
glass ornaments that over time have become antiques. She got them out
this year because she was "feeling nostalgic, and didn't want to get
rid of them, for sentimental reasons."
They make her think of her parents and special Christmases past,
like the one where she got her dachshund puppy, Tech.
"My dad, he was a big Virginia Tech fan."
Sam McNeil, her father, also helped found WBRA-TV and the Western
Virginia Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He and Combs'
