DUBLIN -- It takes just a couple clicks of the mouse to appreciate
the differences between Dawn Adams' old job and her new one.
As the new executive director of the Pulaski County Chamber of
Commerce, Adams is charged with promoting business in a region that
boasts of its "rural atmosphere," "agricultural charm," and local
attractions such as the Pulaski Blue Jays, Motor Mile Speedway and
Claytor Lake.
Visit the Web site of Adams' former employer, the Jacksonville
Regional Chamber of Commerce, and you see photos that show off assets
of a different kind: blocks of waterfront high-rises, miles of sandy
beaches, an NFL team and a symphony.
