Roanoke Ballet Theatre has named a new executive director and dance school leader to replace departed executive director Jenefer Davies.

Longtime RBT dance teacher Unurbat Gunaajav will head the school, and Amanda Sebesta is now executive director, said Davies, who moved to Lexington this month to design a dance program for Washington and Lee University. Gunaajav graduated from the Perm State Choreographic Ballet School in Perm, Russia, in 1989, and as a principal with the Mongolian National Ballet danced lead roles in "Sleeping Beauty," "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake," among others. He came to America in 1998.
