Philip Morris blames losing the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series
national title so many times on paying too much attention to detail.
Never did he figure the script that finally culminated in a
championship would be so disjointed.
Morris earned the title by winning Saturday night's Late Model
Stock race at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway over old and new competitors,
without a right front fender, at a place where he'd never competed.
The circumstances that brought Morris to Caraway might have been
the hardest to figure.
His shot at the title became a long shot at Motor Mile Speedway a
week earlier when he was wrecked intentionally by rival Jason
