Thank yous...
Thank you to the shuttle bus drivers between the National Airport
subway station and the terminals. They're underappreciated and, when
you have three suitcases, they're essential.
Thank you to police officers who write parking tickets and don't
throw the carbons in the street.
Thank you to cab drivers who will change the radio to all-news if
you ask them to.
Thank you to the Orange Line trainmeister who will hold the doors
at Metro Center just an eentsy to let you sprint-and make it.
Thank you to hook-and-ladder drivers who smile back when kids
point at you.
Thank you to librarians, who somehow answer the same questions
endlessly without going mad.
