As reaching the top sometimes mandates starting at the bottom,
reaching the next level sometimes requires taking a harder road. Few
understand such concepts better than Derek Kiser.
The 20-year-old Sissonville, W.Va., driver is competing in his
first full Late Model Stock season at Motor Mile Speedway, where two
years ago he won a Late Model truck championship on the merits of a
division-high 13 victories.
"I think we just had everything right," Kiser said of the 2005
truck campaign. "I think when you have everything right everything
works good, everything's in sync and everybody works together and you
just come out with good results."
