You can never be too old to have fun.
The Blacksburg Senior Center will organize dozens of overnight
trips and special events this summer, and the spots are filling up
fast with this subculture of adventure seekers.
From wine tasting to fishing, senior trips expose a group of about
50 senior citizens to new experiences and friends in the process.
"I've had a few people tell me the program is just a godsend,"
said Joy Herbert, supervisor for senior programs at the Blacksburg
Parks and Recreation Department. "It gives them the opportunity not
just to do things, but to do things with other people."
