Some hard-to-find foreign film classics should soon be easier to
track down on tape, thanks to the recently formed Connoisseur Video
Collection, the first home video label created exclusively to handle
foreign language movies. The company has an immediate leg up on more
mainstream labels that only occasionally dally in international
exotica: Connoisseur's partner in the venture is Janus Films, once
the premier distributor of films from abroad, whose library of about
300 movies will be mined regularly for Connoisseur's bimonthly
release schedule.
Most of the six films in Connoisseur's debut delivery, due this
month, have previously been available on tape through either budget
labels or ...
