CHRISTIANSBURG -- Alice Wrenn has strong feelings against
cigarette smoking in public places.
"You can't smoke in malls, and you can't smoke in grocery stores,"
the Christiansburg resident said. "Why can you smoke in bowling
lanes?"
At NRV SuperBowl, where Wrenn participates in a seniors bowling
league every Monday afternoon with her husband, Buck, she recently
got her wish -- at least all day on Saturdays and on Tuesdays before
10 p.m.
For the first time since the Christiansburg center opened almost
11 years ago, smoking is off limits during those hours after a wave
of customer complaints -- and a steady influx of ashes on the
building's new carpet -- led management to amend its former ...
