Article: Aggreko clocks up 10.4 per cent surge

SCOTTISH power supply group Aggreko today reported a 10.4 per cent rise in pre-tax profit for 2001.

The company, a world leader in providing temporary power supplies, including to events such as the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, also expressed "cautious optimism" for the future.

For the year to December 31, Aggreko saw pre-tax profit lift to 67.1 million pounds - in-line with analysts' expectations, and up from GBP 60.8m in the previous year.

Turnover also saw a healthy rise, lifting 16.6 per cent to GBP 325.8m, while operating profit jumped 10.8 per cent to GBP 76.2m.
