A Loudoun County developer filed an application this week to
rezone nearly 1,000 acres near Dulles International Airport for an
industrial park that probably would include a quarry.
The Alliance Industries Resources Center project would be on a
tract bounded by Rtes. 50, 659, 616 and 620.
The area is within the Dulles noise corridor and has land that
can't be used for residential or agricultural use, the developers and
county officials said.
Alliance President John Andrews said he chose the location
because it "could serve the important purpose of storing construction
and heavy industrial equipment at a concealed site."
