Article: Burberry chief pockets record GBP 10m pay deal

ROSE MARIE BRAVO, the woman credited with turning around Burberry, is to get a 10 million pounds pay package when the firm floats next month, making her the UK's highest paid female chief executive.

The revelation was contained in details of the company's expected arrival on the stock exchange, released today by its owner GUS.

The prospectus said that Ms Bravo, a 51-year-old New Yorker, will be paid a five-figure yearly clothing allowance.

The 146-year-old British company famous for its beige check-lined raincoats, was originally meant to have been floated this month, but tough market conditions have pushed its debut back a month.
