A SCHOOLGIRL is to be one of the first Scots in 20 years to
undergo a radical allergy treatment.
Naomi Cherry is taking an allergy de-sensitisation programme to
combat her chronic hay fever.
The 15-year-old from Edinburgh has suffered most of her life from
severe hay fever, resulting in painful watering eyes and a blocked
nose.
The condition has interfered with her schoolwork in previous
years, and with exams now approaching, she and her family wanted to
make sure her hay fever did not affect her studies.
Steroids, which Naomi has previously used to deal with the
condition, have side-effects which include the risk of high blood
pressure and osteoporosis, so the Cherrys were keen to look ...
