Article: Tour guides take Calton Hill parking fees row to Holyrood

TOUR guides are to protest to the Scottish Parliament over a massive increase in charges for taking visitors on to Calton Hill.

Tour operators are angry at seeing charges for parking coaches on Calton Hill trebled this year to GBP 15.

They have branded the move by the city council "money-grabbing" and say many guides are now shunning the beauty spot.

Now the Edinburgh office of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association are to ask MSPs to intervene in the row in the hope they will persuade the council to drop the charges.
