Article: MSPs show can-doo attitude to tackle pigeon problem

SCOTTISH Parliament bosses are to cover parts of the MSP block at Holyrood with netting in a bid to beat the building's pigeon problem.

Specialist cleaners will remove piles of bird muck from the nooks and crannies of the office block next week before installing the fine- mesh nylon netting at an estimated cost of GBP 5000.

There have been problems with pigeons ever since the move to the Holyrood complex.

Six offices have had part of their ventilation system sealed to prevent feathers and bird muck landing on researchers' desks.

And some staff have reported pigeons getting inside the offices.

Consultants were called in to advise on how to tackle the problem, but wires strung across parts ...
