Article: Experts in flap over Holyrood 'cure' for its pigeon problem

EXPERTS called in to advise the Scottish Parliament on how to handle its pigeon problem today launched a bitter attack on Holyrood bosses for ignoring their ideas.

The Pigeon Control Advisory Service said it had recommended placing anti-roosting spikes on the MSP block to keep the birds away - but the parliament rejected the idea for "aesthetic" reasons.

PiCAS UK director Emma Haskell said: "Anti-roosting spikes would be the ideal solution. The birds see them a mile off and won't land anywhere near them. It's also one of the cheapest solutions available."
