There are two quite regular nostrils. Not enormous or anything.
The bridge is straight-it has some dignity. Some reserve. Overall
it's rather English. It suits him.
On the outside, The Nose's nose is pretty unremarkable. On the
inside, it's something else again. It's extrasensory-capable of
great sensitivity, great memory. Great smelling.
"A dog's head will turn as mine does," says Aphelion, parfumeur.
Of the 30 or 40 in the world, there are three masters of the
art. "I'm the best," he says. His sense of smell is insured by
Lloyd's of London for $5 million ("two or three years' salary").
