ANDY ROBINSON today spoke of his desire to take Edinburgh Rugby to "new heights" after being appointed coach with immediate effect.

An announcement of 43-year-old Robinson's three-year deal ended nearly a fortnight of intense speculation.

The ex-Test flanker will be in charge for Friday's home clash with Ospreys in the Magners Celtic League.

Robinson, formerly of Bath, England and the Lions, who was due to be introduced to the media at Murrayfield today, said: "My career in rugby has always thrived on challenge and I was instantly attracted to the challenge of taking Edinburgh Rugby forward to the next level.
