THAR'S gold in tham thar Hillbillies, y'all. The American
broadcaster CBS has prompted squeals of protest in the deep south
with its plan to launch a reality television version of The Beverly
Hillbillies.
Forty years after the hit comedy show first appeared on American
TV screens, CBS is hoping to cash in on the success of 'docu-soaps'
by setting up a family of real-life hillbillies in the glamorous Los
Angeles suburb and filming their day-to-day life.
The show, provisionally titled The Real Hillbillies, would be
modelled on the sitcom which told the story of the fictional hick Jed
Clampett and his hillbilly family from the Ozark mountains, who
