NEW films from Jim Sheridan and Francois Ozon, a retrospective
tribute to French master of suspense Henri-Georges Clouzot and the
possibility of another outstanding British selection are among the
early highlights of this year's Edinburgh International Film
Festival. The entire programme is expected to be finalised this
weekend as the festival anxiously awaits confirmation of its top
titles, among them David Mackenzie's acclaimed adaptation of the
Alexander Trocchi novel, Young Adam, which has been widely tipped for
the opening night gala on August 13.
Ozon came to Edinburgh last year for the British premiere of his
gloriously camp murder mystery musical 8 Women. This year he returns
